I needed a sturdy and stable stand to raise my compact dryer (eg the kind that is meant to be stacked on a high rack above the washer) up off of the floor. I do not have the headroom for that kind of setup in my closet, but could not find a side-by-side type dryer with the controls on the top that met my needs. So I opted for the 8-leg version of this stand since it offered a full 10 inches of extra height. So far is seems to be a good solution - very clever design to help you customize the size and height for your needs, seems sturdy so far, and I also like that it does not create extra vibration when the dryer is running. Definitely recommend.
