Popup clothes lineWonderful to breathe new life into my no-longer-made umbrella style rotary dryer. This one stands on the ground instead of being planted, and I love it. It's 10 years old and the line was falling apart. The replacement line was simple to install and I have plenty left over for next time. It even came with these cool clips to hold it in place and tighten it over time, unlike the knots that were in it before.OkMy concern for this is not really and issue with this product but for what I was suggested to use it for. I was told I could use this to re-string my Household Essentials Umbrella clothesline but it is way too think. The line that comes with that is only 1/16th. It is multiple strands of nylon covered in plastic. This makes it very strong to hold a lot of weight and it doesn't stretch but thin and flexible enough to make the turns and pull it tight when restringing those lines. This is entirely TOO THICK. I just wasted my money. IF anyone finds the replacement line for the rotary lines please go to those items and post a link. Thank you.It stretches some after use, but easy to tighten up. Installation: spread it across the back yard because it didn't unroll evenly from being coiled up for shipping, but that worked fine.Wanted for a 45 year old "Whirline" rotary drier. Perfect replacement for the old line and easy to fit (took about an hour). Enough line to do the job twice. Did not use clips provided as the line threads through holes in the drier arms. Start at the outer edge, threading it and working in to the centre, follow the old line, removing it as you go. Knot when at the centre and spend a bit of time getting the tension right - quite easy.Don't remove the old line first - it will be a guide as to threading the replacement.I bought this over 10 years ago (I can't believe that but I found the old Amazon order - June 2010 ha ha!) when one section of my washing line snapped. I never got round to getting my husband to fit it and just tied the broken end up and losing a small section. This week another larger section snapped and the line started to unravel a lot more. Yesterday my husband re wired my line and its like a new line now. It has saved a fortune compared to buying a new line. I can't believe its taken 10 years to fit it and 10 years to do a review.Have a 4 arm rotary washing line and the old plastic covered line was becoming brittle. Rather than splash out on a new rotary I decided to replace the line instead (as the frame was still in good condition).Fitting was simple, though it felt a bit Krypton Factor at the start, and it looks like there's enough for a second run if needed.Only thing that stops this being a full five stars (4.999999) is the line at the outer edge sags and I have to keep untying, re-tensioning and tying up again. None of the inner lines sag, just the outer. Odd.Anyway I expect this to give the washing line many more years of use. Not saying "it'll see me out", but it will be a good few years more.I have had Brabantia products in the past and have always been pleased with the quality, I have had 3 rotary lines in the past 20 years and the Brabantia brand has till now always been well made and good value product. However. as a disabled war veteran in my mid 70's I no longer have the dexterity in my body generally to take on tasks like replacing a rotary line. I found the instructions confusing and the assembly and installation of the lines difficult for me and unsuccessful. I was a bit ambitious in thinking I could carry out the task only to find the line and assembly parts not compatible with my abilities but also not compatible with the rotary line I had inherited when I moved here. I think the line I have was an "a Whirli-line" and was a completely different design and despite my effort over 2 days, my task ended in failure,The experience has taught me a lesson, I will purchase a new Brabantia 4-arm rotary line which should last till I end my days, I have returned the line back via Amazon for a refund and will order a new complete rotary Brabantia line. Unfortunately, my carer/cleaner has disposed of the box in our blue bin which has been collected so, I will pack the line, the instructions and accessories in a suitable return box with the remaining line which I really did try hard to apply without success. I hope the seller will accept the return along with my apologies and assurance that I am still a fan of Brabantia products and happy to recommend their products.John GodfreyBought to replace ancient, splitting line on an old but very useful dryer from this company. The instructions were fair but buyers, BE WARNED- you have to measure the distance between each of the 4 arms on each 'ring' of the dryer, add 15cms and cut that length of cord then thread it through, adjust tension, tie it off with little clips on the underside of each arm. When you get to the outermost row you have to cut 4 long strips. All this has to be done with the dryer put up so you're working over your head. Exhausting! My long-suffering husband took over and took all of an afternoon and most of the next morning.Just buy a cheap replacement rotary dryer.
