This rice washing bowl is not what I was expecting. The rice gets wet, it changes texture a little bit. The water is easily removed from this bowl. After it is cooked in the rice cooker the texture is quite moist. I need to experiment with a bit more and less water to see the difference in the finished state.I've used other bowls to rinse rice in but all that does is produce floating rice. This one probably really does wash the rice. I think the longer rice sits in the bowl the rice would puff up more. We'll see! It is fun to have something new to try out!I am learning to make sushi for the first time in many many years and I looked at several websites and comments made by other sushi makers and this rice was recommended and unbelievably inexpensive and cooks beautifully and is wonderful to make sushi. Even though I do wash the rice before cooking some sushi makers say this rice does not require washing. This 5 pound bag cost less than a 1 pound bag of sushi rice at the grocery store I use. Next time I will buy the 25 pound bag to share with my daughter who loves sushi. Just can’t go wrong with this rice.Recently got a good rice cooker to make simple meals for myself. This bowl really works well. Quickly rinses the rice, and removes the water to make it easy to transfer the rice to your cooker bowl, or pot.Ev ry rice cooker should have 1 of this. The rice gets rinse in zipyzap without losing 1 grain of rice! Easy to wash/rinse and store.Price reasonable!!I really like this new tool! I make rice daily and this tool makes it really easy to clean. Washing rice can damage the rice pot and so when I saw this, I really wanted to try it. So glad I did! It allows me to clean the rice thoroughly and I don't lose one grain; whereas, doing it manually in the pot, I tend to lose some as I drain and rewash.I have no idea how I lived without this in my life! Must have for cleaning the starches off the rice.Where has this been all of my “rice-eating” life? So glad I found this item. Highly recommend.I can wash up to 8 cups of rice in one. The ease of cleaning it is a plus and I have a spare. Let's hope they last for ever! I own an 8 quart inta pot so I can make this much rice.UPDATE:Found a genuine product and uploaded a Photo of the differenceTerrible!Waited 3 months for this item to arrive, only to open the package today to realize that it’s a fake product. As shown in photos, you’ll see the following:• Missing Red Accent• 10CM actual height VS 14CM original height• Made in China with Japanese words above it• Quality Difference• Missing lines inside the bowlDO NOT ORDER if you’re looking for the original item as I am, this was false advertisement!I hate washing rice. You have to use loads of water. It takes forever. The rice sticks to the bowl or accidentally pours out with the water. For this reason, I usually buy musenmai in Japan so I can throw it directly in the rice cooker. But coronavirus has torpedoed that strategy.Enter the Inomata rice rinsing bowl. This thing is like the Zojirushi of rice washing. It's made of impressive non-stick materials such that it's easy to transfer the rice straight in to the pan or rice cooker without spillage. The way the water flows in the bowl is perfectly optimised and results in clean rice after just several seconds. If you frequently enjoy Japanese rice, this is surprisingly superior to using a normal bowl or strainer.Uncooked White Basmati Rice has a tendency to become lodged in the slots and holes and needs poking out with a fork. Who am I to tell the Japanese that their rice washing bowl is faulty? Perhaps it's intended for a particular Japanese rice.It does function very well as a large collander for vegetables, so gets used. However, seeing as it was shipped all the way from Japan, it's a little disappointing not to be able to use it for its intended purpose without the aforementioned fork. What I received is not what is stated and pictured. First, the item is not made in Japan as stated but made in China. There is a sticker that states Made in China AND its also printed at the bottom of the washer. It is very small and upon another look, there are scratches already on the side of the washer. Will be returning this.I wish I had bought one years ago, o use it for rice and washing vegetables. I would not want to be without it now.
